Duran.

enticing and earthy voice to convey the sultry Brazilian mood.

A professional with decades of experience singing...Duran is the
model of consistency. Subtlety and understatement are present in the blue
of her blues and the blush of her ballads."

STEPS
... it is a pleasure from beginning to end. Duran sings with laid-back
grace and perfect pitch. Her vocal on 'I Havent Got Anything Better
To Do' is worth the price of admission on its own.
Lars Gandil, VICTORY MUSIC REVIEW
The entire affair is enhanced and enlivened by Thomas attractive
wife, Becca Duran, both as vocalist and composer of two of the most beguiling
tunes on the set, 'Song For Rita' and 'Au Contraire.' 'Im Glad There
is You' is here as a reminder that the artistry of this husband and wife
duo extends beyond Brazilian as Duran puts a shiny, sensuous veneer on
this classic torch song.
Dave Nathan,
ALL MUSIC GUIDE
This appealing CD of Latin inspired music brings to the forefront
the sympathetic vocal stylings of Becca Duran...A most enjoyable recording,
which I commend to all lovers of Latin-tinged jazz.

NOW
Durans ambitious album, 'Song for Rita,' will be a welcome
surprise for fans of genuine Brazilian jazz who have suffered through
too many ersatz efforts. Avoiding such Jobim classics as 'Corcovado' and
'Desafinado,' now over-exposed to the point of cliche, ...less familiar
works, 'Antigua,' 'Brigas Nunca Mais' and the hauntingly beautiful 'So
Tinha de ser Com Voce.' I was most taken with Durans restless reading
of 'I Havent Got Anything Better to Do,' replete with a breathy
suggestion of tear-stained silk sheets.
